Message from the Regional Chair

Ken SeilingDear Friends,

In 2009, Regional Council approved its first Environmental Sustainability Strategy.  At the heart of the strategy is our organization's Environmental Policy which states "The Region of Waterloo will develop and embrace environmental considerations in its decisions and will foster community stewardship of the natural environment." Strategies are valuable only if they are used, monitored, and reported.

As part of our commitment to accountability, we are presenting this progress report on our Environmental Strategy to let you know how we are using it to guide our actions.

If you have any comments or observations, please feel free to share them with us as we work to make Waterloo Region a sustainable community for current and future generations.

Yours sincerely,
Ken Seiling, Regional Chair
